Richard F. Anderson

Richard Floyd Anderson, Sr., was born July 1, 1944, in Urbanna, Virginia, to the late Hunter Anderson and Careda Anderson. Richard was educated in the Middlesex County Public School System and graduated from St. Clare Walker High School in 1963. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
On September 19, 1964, Richard was united in holy matrimony to Purlie Anderson. They were married in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was blessed to be a father of three children.
Richard retired from the United States Air Force Base on August 24, 1988. After retiring from the United States Air Force, Richard attended Delaware State University for some college courses. He later worked at Boscov's for 16 years, retiring in 2006.
Richard loved talking and meeting new people, eating at restaurants, riding his bike, taking road trips, and spending time with his family. He was devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Reggie Anderson.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory three children, Janet Denton (Steve), Richard Anderson, Jr. (Tina), and LaSandra Anderson; seven grandchildren, Tyrone Anderson, Stephen Walker, Jr., Michael Walker, Alexa Anderson, Alexandra Anderson, Doug Anderson, and Jasper Anderson; seven great-grandchildren, Robbiana Fisher Coverdale, Typhen Bowe-Walker, Khamei Bowe-Walker, Makai Walker, Makayla Walker, Kaydra Walker, Mason Walker; four sisters, Martha Henley, Geraldine Stewart, Patricia Lennon, and Denise Bose; six brothers, William Anderson, James Homes, Teddy Bagby, Gerald Bagby, Rodney Johnson, and Donald Chapman; and a host of loving family and friends.
