Richard Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Dec. 2, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard "Rich" Eugene Andrews Jr., a cherished friend, brother, and beloved member of the Springfield community. Richard, known to many as "Rich," was born on August 24, 1947, in Springfield, MO. He departed this world on November 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.

Rich was a familiar face around town, always ready to lend a hand and share a smile. Whether it was volunteering his time cooking at the American Legion Post 639 or supporting various charities, Rich exemplified a spirit of giving that touched many lives. He had a knack for keeping busy-whether it was gathering with his poker buddies for a game or visiting friends at Hardee's, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air.

An ardent supporter of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, Rich was spirited about his beliefs and engaged in conversations that brought people together. He was a man of strong convictions and an unwavering commitment to his community.

Rich was preceded in death by his grandparents Dude and Polly Andrews and Tom and Virgie Sneed, his parents Richard Andrew, Sr., Mary Andrews Day, step-father Kenneth Dewey Day, and sisters Sharon Day-Swearingen and Jenny Andrews Day, and brother Bruce Day.

Rich is survived by his beloved dog, Dema; beloved sister, Imogene Stevens; his brother, Kenny Day and wife Janet Day; and his nieces and nephews, Tami Stevens, Debbie Fetters, Kimberly Day, Teresa Williams, Tony Robertson, and Dustin Day, who will carry on his memory with love and pride.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heather, Larry, Allen, and the nursing staff at Cox South, for all of their compassion and care for Richard.

We invite friends and family to join us in honoring Richard's life. A funeral service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the future at Smith Cemetery near Rogersville, Missouri.

Rich's warm spirit and generous heart will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Let's gather to celebrate a life well-lived and remember the joy he brought into our lives.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rescue One Springfield, 2000 S Stewart Ave, Springfield, MO 65804 or left in care of the funeral home.
