Richard M. Baptiste of Somerville, formerly Medford and Lexington, passed away on September 21, 2025. He was the son of the late Manuel Baptiste and Dorothea (Herlihy) Baptiste. Brother of Robert Baptiste and his wife Patricia of Chevy Chase, MD, Marion O'Shaughnessy of Medford, and the late Diane Williams of Nashua.

Rick was an avid sports fan, particularly football, which he played at Lexington High School and hockey, following the Boston Bruins. After starting his own landscaping company, B&B Landscaping, he spend most of his time with big machinery; dump trucks and back hoes. Operating or repairing machinery took most of his time, but he enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews; Laura, Edward, Michelle, Christine, Brian, Michael, Aileen and Sarah at the family home on Marrett Rd.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday September 27 at St. Brigid Church,1981 Mass Ave, Lexington 10:30 A.M. Visitation at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington immediately prior to the Mass from 9am to 10:15am. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at Cafe Escadrille following the services.

In lieu of flowers trees can be planted in his honor to The Arbor Day Foundation (www.arborday.org)..
