This one is for you Richard. The Illini made one of the most exciting finishes in decades today in football and won. I miss your call and hearing you say "did you see the Illini today???". Was always a special time for us. I miss you big brothers.

Last week was the one year anniversary of Dicks passing and I still think about him often. I have many memories of Dick from my childhood days when I looked up to him in awe as my "big" brother to the many times we got together for White Sox games, Illinois football tail gate parties with my retro Thunderbird, lunch with just Dick and me to the three Amigos (Dick, Scott & me) get together at Cantigny, the Illinois Railway Museum, Vintage Illinois at Starved Rock, the Flossmoor Brewery, lunch at the Medical Center/College of Dentistry and many other occasions.

What an awesome big brother! I was the youngest of four in our family, and inspired by each of my 3 older siblings. Dick was the oldest and I always looked up to his wit and brilliant mind. We did not always agree, but were never disagreeable. His knowledge in engineering aviation was incredible. He inspired me to be much more than I thought possible. I loved my visits to U of I to spend a few days with Dick (and also with brother Mike) and going to classes and research labs. Taking the Illinois Central train to Champaign made these visits extra special as we shared the love of trains.

Most of all, Dick loved his family and friends. We could always go to him. When he got sick, his boys and special angel Joy were there for him. So was his brother Mike. Our "three amigos" get togethers will forever be one of the many memories that we will have forever.

We love you, big bro. God bless.
