Richard A. Bartolomeo, affectionately known as "Dick," passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Christmas Day 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 27, 1936, in the Bronx to Frank and Rosina (Flamino) Bartolomeo, he was one of eight children. The growing family moved to Pine Plains in 1948. Dick's life was dedicated to his family. He possessed a strong work ethic, and a passion for numerous hobbies, including travel, craftsmanship and history, especially military history.

Richard served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He was very proud of his service to our country. After his service, he embarked on a successful career as a partner in Bart Brothers Inc., fuel oil distributors, in Pine Plains, where he worked alongside his brother William until retiring in 1991.

In June of 1958, Dick married his beloved wife, Marion Rundall, at St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook. Their marriage spanned an impressive 68 years, during which they created countless memories. He loved the seaside best, traveling often over the years to Cape Cod, and Maine. Trips to Princeton, NJ, Lake Placid, Manhattan, Canada, Washington, and Memphis were also among their favorite escapades, and these adventures brought them immense joy.

Dick was not only devoted to his career and family but was also an enthusiastic hobbyist. He found great pleasure in golf and bowling, achieving the remarkable feat of bowling a perfect 300. He actively participated in local senior groups and was also involved with the Rhinebeck AARP, and the Milan and the Southern Tier Seniors, where he made many friends and enjoyed numerous trips. He was a charter member of the Memorial VFW Post 5519 in Pine Plains.A skilled carpenter, Dick took pride in adding unique touches to his home and his daughter Lisa's home as well. His passions also led him to restore a vintage car and tractor, and to build a sailboat and a Cobra Kit car from scratch.

Dick is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marion, daughter Lisa Marie and her husband Kevin Thiemann of Copake Falls, NY, and son Richard Bartolomeo, Jr. of Manhattan. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Renee Bouchey and her husband Robert III, and one great-grandson, Robert James Bouchey. His legacy continues through his brothers, Joseph (Marie) Bartolomeo, William (Dawn) Bartolomeo, and Charles (Laurel) Bartolomeo, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Ceila Coons, and brothers Peter, Robert, and Francis Bartolomeo.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and offer condolences on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains, New York. Followed by a funeral service that will commence at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place privately at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
