Richard Lewis Baumgart, age 74 of New London passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at his home. Richard was born on August 28, 1950 in Pulaski, the son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Martell) Baumgart. He married Sharon Streckenbach on June 13, 1970 at St. Edward & Isadore Catholic Church in Suamico. He enjoyed working on cars, and on occasion that turned into dates with Sharon. Richard owned and operated R&S Tire Service for over 20 years. He was a hard working and fair man, who loved farming, tractors and being with the land. Richard provided many spoils to his family through his endless hard work. He always looked forward to the Sunday early morning breakfasts with his family and evening trips to Krolls.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Kevin (Carla), Bryan (Carli), Michelle, Jason (Tracy), Renee and Aaron (Jessica Niemuth); eleven grandchildren; his siblings, Bill (Judy), Joy (Steve), Patti (Mark), Paul, Sue, Ruth (Jim) and Barb (Leon); brother-in-law, Chuck and sister-in-law, Audrey. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob; his siblings, Mike, Mary and Daniel and his very special dog, Ginger.
The Funeral Service for Richard will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Chaplain Ben Frei officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Full military honors will follow the service.
