Richard "Dick" Benny of Plano, Texas passed away October 14, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born Stanley A. Benny and Alice (Solberg) Benny on January 18, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dick married Velma "Kris" Marcantel on December 12, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated high school in Minnesota and worked in Quality Control at Lockheed Martin for over 30 years before retiring. Dick also served as a Captain in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed fishing and valued the time spent with his family.
Dick is survived by his son, Randy Lee and wife, Isela of El Paso, Texas; son, Kevin Benny of Plano, Texas; son, Scott Benny of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, P.J. Lee, Buddy Lee, Travis Lee, Cody Lee, Ireland Benny, and Shelby Benny; five great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Stanek; brother, Robert K. Benny; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Benny; son, Craig Lee; parents, Stanley and Alice Benny; sister, Alice Telle; and brother, Stanley M. Benny.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/richard-dick-benny. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
