Richard Vernon Bingham - born October 28, 1942 in Salt Lake City Utah to Vernon Lural Bingham and Nola Christensen Bingham at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City Utah.

Richard grew up with his two younger sisters in Verdeland park which was located approximately where Layton High School currently stands. After an adventurous youth at the age of 18 he decided to enlist in the US Navy, influenced by his father who also served in the Navy.

After finishing his first tour in 1965 while home in Layton, Utah he met the love of his life, Jean Palmer and they were wed shortly after that on Christmas eve of the same year.

Richard decided to re-enlist in the Navy and took his new bride with him to California where they lived for the next five years until deciding to move back home to Utah.

They purchased a home in Granger, Utah and started their family where they lived for 4 years. During this time two of their youngest sons were born. Wanting to be closer to family they decided to move back to Layton, Utah where they purchased their forever home where Jean still lives today.

During his time living in Layton, he held many positions in the LDS church which included High

Councilman and bishop of the Layton 25th ward. Also during his time in Layton he had a long career as an Instrumentation specialist at the Chevron refinery located in North Salt Lake, UT.

Richard is survived by his spouse of 60 years Jean Bingham, Layton, Utah, , his sons Michael Bingham, Seattle, WA and Scott Bingham, Sunset, Utah and also his sister Marsha Yurth, Layton, Utah as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Vernon Lural Bingham and Nola Christensen Bingham. His sister Linda Kerkman. His son Kevin Bingham and his daughter Julie Ann Bingham. He is also preceded by his grandson Aaron Bingham and his great grandson Dylan Bingham.

Richard was loved by many in his community and will be surely missed!
