Richard Bleier

Richard Bleier of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. He was born December 25, 1954, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Frank and Catherine Bleier. On June 9, 1984, Richard married Judy Tallon in Park Ridge, New Jersey. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Richard enjoyed a career spanning more than 35 years as an engineer with American Electric Power Service Corporation. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his kind and adventurous spirit, and his love of animals. Richard found joy in life's simple moments-whether walking his dogs or cheering on his favorite teams. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Judy; his daughters, Alison Bleier and Kelly Bleier (Cong); and his granddaughter, Claire. He is also survived by his sister, Marion (Steve) Davis; sisters-in-law Linda (Tom) Golin, Debbie (John) Bilinski, and Barbara (Doug) Kelly; and brothers-in-law Chris (Liza) Tallon and John Tallon, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine (Powell) Bleier, paternal grandparents David and Teresia Bleier, his maternal grandparents David and Charlotte Powell and his brother-in-law, Peter Tallon. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Rutherford Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center in Columbus, Ohio, in Richard's honor
