Dan was born in Columbus, OH, to parents Loree and Charles (Chuck) McCabe on March 17, 1962. He went to school at St. Michaels and graduated from Whetstone High School. He married Lori McCabe on March 5, 2007, in Columbus, OH.
Dan is preceded in death by wife Lori McCabe, parents Chuck and Loree McCabe, brother Mike McCabe, father-in-law John Cahill, and father-in-law Wayne Daniels.
Dan is survived by son Nick Daubert and daughter Jen Grubbs; granddaughter Vada Grubbs; mother-in-law Judy Cahill; brothers Jim McCabe and Tim McCabe; sisters Mary O'Connor (Hank), Patty Fry (Bob); Kate Bumster (Mike); Rita McCabe and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home located at 515 High St., Worthington, Ohio, from 10a-12pm followed by a remembrance service from 12p-12:30p.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Columbus Area Human Society and/or Disabled American Veterans (DAV) charities.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
