Richard E. Boyle

Richard (Richie) E. Boyle, longtime resident of East Setauket, passed away peacefully with his loving family on Saturday, March 14th at the age of 81 years old. Richard is survived by his daughter, Darcelle Boveri; son-in-law, Gian Boveri; granddaughter, Gianna Boveri; and chosen daughter, Kathleen Kister-Reisman.

Richard was born on August 19th, 1944, in The Bronx, New York. He was a dedicated truck driver and a proud member of the Teamsters Local 807. He found great camaraderie with fellow Teamsters and spoke greatly of the Italian-American friends he made in New York City.

Richard was a single father who dedicated his life to raising and loving his two daughters, Darcelle and Rachelle, with gratitude.

Richard was a devoted father to his children, grandchildren, community, and anyone else who might need a friend. His great sense of humor and optimism in the face of adversity made him a friend to all, including 7/11 clerks and community service workers across Suffolk County. Richard loved doo-wop music; he frequently attended rock and roll concerts with his friends and family at Foxwoods Casino and across Long Island. He enjoyed pranking family and friends; he would want everyone to know how much he loved trains.

Richard's loving and bright sense of humor will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on through treasured memories, laughter, gratitude, and kindness.

There will be a wake on Thursday 3/19 from 4-8pm at Cargain Funeral Home, 418 US-6, Mahopac, NY 10541. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday 3/20 at 11am, at Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Rd, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Good Shepherd Hospice.
