Richard Lyle Boynton Sr., 87, of rural Necedah WI, passed away Wednesday April 23rd, 2025, at Montello
Care Center, in Montello WI. Richard was born on June 5th, 1937 to Lillian and Humphrey Boynton in
Milwaukee, WI. Richard grew up in Rhinelander WI and after high school, served in the US Army.
Richard married Jane Bowman on August 8th 1959, in Rhinelander, WI. The couple moved to Chicago
where Richard started his life long career with Farnam-Meillor Sealing Systems. In 1965 Richard moved
his family to Necedah, WI, to continue his job relationship with Farnam, he worked his way up to
become the materials purchasing agent for the company. Richard retired after 40 years at Farnam in
1999.
Richard had a love for anything outdoors. He was an avid hunter (of anything that moved) and a
phenomenal fisherman, whether it was on the ice in subzero weather or in a boat during the summer
months, he always came home with many fish and even more stories than fish. He also loved to golf and
thoroughly enjoyed watching sports on TV, he was always a loyal Brewers and Packer fan. Richard had a
keen sense of humor and was always telling stories. He had the ability to always make people laugh.
Along with all of this, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Family gatherings
were always a favorite time for him.
Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane; his brother, Jerry; his daughter, Julie (Jim) Bosh of
Crystal Lake IL; his daughter, Connie, of Necedah WI; his daughter, Christine (Tim) Sauter, of Necedah
WI; his son, Richard Jr. (Sue) Boynton, of Necedah WI, along with 9 grandchildren, 19 great
grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Carol and Edith; his brother, Thomas; and
his son in law, Robert.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 10th from 1-4, at the Necedah Veterans Memorial Hall
in Necedah WI. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Necedah is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
