Richard Arthur "Rick" Buechel Jr.

Richard "Rick" Arthur Buechel, Jr., 72, of Newport, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was a member of St. Therese Parish in Southgate, KY, and a 1971 graduate of Newport Catholic High School in Newport, KY. Rick worked as a parts manager with K.O.I. Motors for 30+ years and retired from Smith Muffler in Covington, KY. He was a member of Newport Housing Authority Commission and a former member of the Newport Planning and Zoning Committee. Rick was a classic car enthusiast and an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan. He absolutely loved spending time with his friends and family. Rick was preceded in death by his parents: Rich and Anne Buechel, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife: Terry Buechel; children: Bridget Donovan, Richard Arthur Buechel, III, Angela (Brett) Spaulding, Jason (Erin) Willitzer, Annie (Adam) Spaulding, Jessi (Brigid) Willitzer, Stacy (Eric) Ridpath and Austin (Fran) Buechel; siblings: Cindy (Dave) Slocum, Jim (Laurie) Buechel, Steve (Missy) Buechel and Gerry (Cheryl) Buechel; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Therese Church, 11 Temple Place, Southgate, KY 41071. Interment will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, KY. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 is serving the family.
