Richard M. "Dick" Buhrfiend, age 84, of Elmhurst, Graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, Notre Dame Graduate, Class of '59 and DePaul Law School; longtime attorney in DuPage County; beloved husband of Carol Ann, nee Kennedy; loving father of Colleen (Shawn) Davies, Laura (Michael) Morsch, Mary Carol (Michael) Honquest, Kevin (Kristen), Timothy (Jennifer), Michael (Jill), Daniel (Tricia) and Brigid Buhrfiend; cherished grandfather of Devin, Erin, Sean and Iain Davies, Kevin, Michael, Daniel and Meghan Morsch, Daniel, Shannon, Michael, Matthew and Bridget Honquest, Grace Buhrfiend, Kathleen, Maureen, Colleen and William Buhrfiend, Allison, Katherine and Brooke Buhrfiend, Thomas, Elizabeth and Mark Buhrfiend; dear brother of the late Rosemary Bullock; dear uncle of Brian Bullock. Dick was a deeply religious man, devoted family man and proud ND Grad. He lived his life following a simple mantra : God, Family, Notre Dame. Visitation Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (1/2 mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Misericordia Heart of Mercy, 6300 North Ridge, Chicago, IL 60660.
