Richard Peter Byron, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. Born on August 28, 1941, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Richard was the beloved son of Charles and Dorothy Byron, who predeceased him.

He dedicated 40 years to his career in automotive sales at Precision Trim, where he became known for his unwavering commitment to his customers and strong work ethic. Richard's character shone not just in his professional life but also in his personal endeavors. A true family man, he married the love of his life, Ellen, in 1988, beginning a shared journey filled with love and companionship.

Those who knew Richard were often greeted by his infectious sense of humor, always sharing corny jokes that brought joy and laughter to those around him. His love for his family was evident, and he cherished the time spent with his daughters, Cindy Smith and her husband Kevin, and Rebecca Black and her husband Jason. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a devoted great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember him fondly.

Richard was also passionate about various hobbies, enjoying model airplanes and woodworking in his spare time. His love for airplanes extended beyond mere hobbies, reflecting a fascination that captivated him throughout his life. Naturally, Richard had a special affection for the feline companions he shared his home with, namely Patches, Spooky, and Chloe, who brought warmth and comfort to his daily existence.

In addition to his career and family pursuits, Richard proudly served in the Army, embodying the values of loyalty and dedication. His legacy will be remembered through the many lives he touched with kindness and laughter.

A funeral service will be held in his honor on December 23, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, beginning at 10:00 AM on December 24, 2025.

Richard Peter Byron leaves behind a profound emptiness in the hearts of his loved ones, but his spirit will live on through the countless memories they shared. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
