Richard Calvosa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes - Seven Hills Chapel on Nov. 30, 2023.
Richard Calvosa, 87, of Spring Hill, FL. passed away Nov. 30, 2023. He was born in Bronx, NY. and moved here 23 years ago from Long Island, NY.
Richie was the sole proprietor and owner of Richie's Cottage Inn on Hempstead Tpke in Elmont for 25 years before retiring to Spring Hill Florida in 2000. During the years prior to moving to Florida he looked forward to hunting in upstate NY with his sons every Thanksgiving week and loved to fish as well. Summers were a time to go camping with family on L.I at Wildwood State Park and upstate NY.. Our home was always filled with pets..dogs, cats, a duck named Eddy (renamed Edwina when she started laying eggs), a rabbit, a raccoon, a tarantula, birds,an iguana..and a pet pig.. some were welcomed..some not too much..whatever he thought he could get away with. Best memories include Saturday night poker games at our home in Islandia..the men playing cards in the kitchen and the girls playing board games in the dining room... lots of friends and family over for the holidays and barbecues...Richie loved a good steak..a meat and potatoes guy unless it was pasta or whatever and anything his sister cooked.. We all remember the question "what's for dinner?" We have many years of memories..Please share yours!
Richard is predeceased by parents, Raymond and Josephine Calvosa.
Richard is survived by Loving wife, Judy Calvosa; children, Robert Cavosa, Richard Calvosa, Raymond Calvosa, Vincent Calvosa, Daniel Calvosa and Jeannine Dayton. Richard is also survived by his sister, Joan Lombardo and his nieces, Theresa Lombardo and Karen Lombardo and her family as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
