Christopher Raymond Calvosa slipped away from us suddenly in the early morning hours of March 13, 2008.
”Critter” was born in Arcata on March 28, 1984, and was a lifelong resident of Humboldt, Trinity, and Shasta Counties. He was a talented carpenter and mechanic, and a gifted musician. But his greatest asset was his charismatic personality and the ability to make people feel welcome.
Christopher was a warrior with a heart as big as his beloved Marble Mountains. Our world is diminished by the loss of this amazing young man.
He will be missed and remembered everyday by his parents, Robert Calvosa of Eureka, CA, and Julie Calvosa of Salyer, CA; his sisters, Sara Voorhees and Heather Calvosa; his brother, PVT Joseph Calvosa; his grandparents, Georgia Young, and Albert and Lorraine Calvosa; his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and many, many friends.
A visitation will be held at Paul’s Chapel in Arcata, CA, on Wednesday March 19, 2008, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Paul’s Chapel, Arcata, CA.

Critter was that rare creature: a simply good man. He seemed to stroll out of the wilds of a bygone era, a man of the mountains, careless for himself but warm toward others, transcending any trouble with his essential integrity and good humor intact.
We all miss him. To Toiane, his parents and other family, our sympathy for this untimely loss.

Dear Robert, Julie,Al and Lorraine,Sara,Heather,Joseph and family,
Our heart and prayers go out to you all. Ted and I know the pain of losing a child. We are believers and know one day we will all be united in His Glory again.
We remember all of you with love and great memories. Please know even though miles away we think of the good and happy times we shared together as our families were growing together. Christopher is in a place we strive one day to enter. He is watching over all of you. We remember with joy watching as he was first learning to swim in the pool in grandparents back yard in Fullerton. How watchful he was to his younger brother Joseph.
Know we love you. We send our prayers, love and hugs, forever friends, Pat and Ted

Critter....you will never be forgotten. Ever. Our hearts are broken that you are no longer present in our lives. But you are present in our hearts and minds and memories. Your kindness, your integrity, your humor, your talents, everything combined together to be someone that will never be replicated. You are so loved by so many and so missed. Brendon lost a brother the day you left us. He misses you so much. Critter, we will look after Toiane, her love meant so much to you, and we will honor you and know that's what you would want us to do. She is in good hands. Our love to Critter's family. Know that he was so loved and admired, that you raised an amazing man. We love you, Critter. Rest in Peace.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
