Richard M. Campion, 72, of Stratford, beloved partner of Peter McBride, passed away on June 30, 2025. Born on February 21, 1953 in New York, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn Campion.
A gifted florist, Richard had a rare talent for transforming any space into something beautiful. His arrangements weren't just flowers-they were expressions of feeling, style, and personality. Whether it was a wedding, a celebration, or simply a home in need of color, he had an eye that could brighten a room and lift the spirit. His love for music was lifelong and boundless. From collecting autographs to meeting some of his favorite stars, his enthusiasm was infectious. Barbra Streisand held a special place in his heart-her voice a soundtrack to many moments of his life. Richard was also a man of the world, finding joy in travel, new experiences, and the thrill of discovering beauty in unfamiliar places. His sharp wit, bold honesty, and ability to make people laugh were all part of his unique charm. He never held back from speaking his mind-but always with heart. He lived his life colorfully and fully, and in doing so, he inspired others to do the same.
Along with his partner, Richard is survived by his brother, William Campion; his sister, Maureen Dean, along with many nieces and nephews. Richard is predeceased by his husband, Robert Crivell; his brother, Gerald Campion; and his sister, Patricia Farrell.
