Richard Carter, 91, of Camby, went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.
He was born on April 14, 1933, in St. Charles, Virginia, to the late Richard and Lura Carter who raised nine children.
He was a member of Valley Mills Christian Church for 32 years and worked for Chrysler Automotive for 38 years. Richard enjoyed spending time with family, attending church, fishing, and playing golf. He was also a member of the Decatur Township Lions Club.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce of 70 years; his daughters, Rhonda (Keith) Thompson and Lisa (Chad) Minnis; grandchildren, Lindsey (David) Geiselhart, Scott (Kathryn) Thompson, Zachary (Hannah) Minnis, Taylor Minnis; five great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Sammie Daniels and Ronnie Carter.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Valley Mills Christian Church, 5555 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46221, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4pm – 8pm, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46221.
