Richard Chapolini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 17, 2026.
Richard L. Chapolini, 71, of Baldwin, MD, passed away on February 14, 2026 in Towson, MD.

Rick was born on February 28, 1954, in Baltimore MD, a son of the late Enos and Dorothy Chapolini. He attended University of Baltimore and was a proud graduate of Calvert Hall College High School. He married Josephine (JoAnne) Grasser on April 30, 1977, and together they raised their two daughters, Gail and Karen. He loved his girls with everything he had, and his devotion to his family was his greatest joy.

Rick operated and grew the third-generation, family-based Tech Contracting, Inc., along with his brother James (Jim), for most of his life. With Jim and their other brother, Robert (Bob), they also developed, leased, and operated various commercial properties in the area.

The beach was his and JoAnne's happy place, where they spent a lot of time in the summers. Rick enjoyed boating, traveling, rooting for the Orioles and Ravens, family cookouts, hosting holidays at their home, and spending time with friends.

In 2024, Rick was delighted to add another male to the family, when Gail married Michael (Mike). And just last year, he was thrilled to become a grandfather after Gail and Mike welcomed daughter Colette. Popsy adored both Colette and his "granddoggy," Della, Karen's cockapoo.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, JoAnne; daughter Gail LaFleur (Mike) of Baldwin, MD; daughter, Karen Chapolini of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter Colette; brother Jim (Barbara); brother Bob (Barbara); and many other family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 10am, at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 2407 Laurel Brook Rd., Fallston, MD 21047. Burial to take place immediately following the funeral service at Highview Memorial Gardens, 3433 Fallston Rd., Fallston, MD 21047.

Friends may visit from 4-7pm on Wednesday, February 18th at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Rd., Towson, MD 21204.
