Richard Peter "Rick" Charette

March 25, 1975 – December 12, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Peter Charette, 50, of New Britain, Connecticut, announces his passing on December 12, 2025. Richard, known to friends and family as "Rick," was a man of extraordinary character-a Marine Corps veteran, skilled tradesman, and most importantly, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend.

Born and raised in New Britain, Rick was a proud Marine who held that title with honor. After his time in the military, he spent over 20 years working at a construction company, where his mechanical genius grew. Whether it was fixing a lawn mower or a crane, Rick's ability to repair anything was a testament to his unmatched skill. His hands were always busy, whether tinkering with a car, his Harley, or taking on any project that came his way.

A man with an infectious personality, Rick had a talent for making others laugh and bringing joy to any room he entered. He had a heart as big as his sense of humor, always ready to listen and offer support. His shoulders carried more than most could bear, yet he rarely let it show. Rick was always there for his family, offering love, comfort, and a good laugh when needed most.

Rick is survived by his two daughters, Alanis and Madison Charette; his grandson, Weston; his two sisters, Lori Comeau and Michelle Charette; his mother, Carol Charette; his uncle, Peter Melnyk, as well as other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Charette.

A lover of life, Rick was known for his quick wit, his love of military movies, and his signature bucket hats. He was always the life of the party and found joy in the simplest things-whether cruising on his bikes, shooting billiards with his club, or spending time with those he loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to disabled Veterans. Per his wishes, there will be no service, and burial will be private at the convenience of his family.

Rick will be deeply missed, but his legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who cared to know him.
