Richard (Dick) Lee Cobb, AMHC(AC)Retired, of Philomath passed peacefully at home into eternal life on January 21, 2026.

Dick was born on May 25,1938 and raised in Glendale, OR. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959 and became an Aviation Structural Mechanic (Hydraulics) assigned to Helicopter Combat Support Squadron THREE at NAS North Island, San Diego, California. During his service, Dick earned his Naval Aircrewman wings while serving as the Aircrew Chief onboard the CH-46 helicopter. He served in Vietnam for 1 year, being awarded The Air Medal (six strike/flight awards); additionally, he received the following service awards: Meritorious Unit Commendation (two bronze stars), Battle Efficiency, Good Conduct Service Medal (four bronze stars), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (three bronze stars), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallangtry Cross (with palm), Republic of Vietnam CIV Action Unit Citation, Expert Rifleman Ribbon and Expert Pistol Ribbon.

Retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) in 1979, he remained in San Diego with his family working at ROHR Industries until moving back to his family home in Philomath, OR in 1994. Dick's favorite hobbies included: traveling across the country to visit family and friends, fishing, wood working, genealogy and bird watching. He is survived by his two sons Richard Lee Cobb Jr. and Robert Noel Cobb, his 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Prior to his passing, his last request was granted as he accepted The Lord as his Savior and was baptized. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Louise Timm Cobb and daughter, Karie Lee Tallman.
