Richard Cogar Obituary
Richard W. Cogar, 79, passed away December 18, 2013. Born in Braxton Co., West Virginia, Richard lived in Akron 37 years before moving to Freeport, Ohio, where he resided the last 21 years.
Preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; son, Michael; father, Truman; mother, Ethel Orr; brother, Herb; and sister, Eunice; he is survived by daughters, Patty Fast, Tina Cogar, Kelly Varney and Shelly (Andrew) Delhorbe; stepson, Bill (Marianne) Nagley; grandchildren, Brandon, Eric, Shawn, Kea, Dawn, Aaron and Heather; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Demma and Francis.
Funeral service Monday, 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Charles Marshall officiating. Visiting Sunday, from 5 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, one hour prior to the service, from 12 to 1 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
