Richard A. Conn

Richard A Conn peacefully passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on September 12, 1936, in Yonkers NY to his parents Elizabeth Myers and Robert Charles Conn.

He married Carol Conn on January 14, 1956, who predeceased him in 2008 after 52 years of marriage. They made their home in Wappingers Falls in 1971, where they raised 4 children.

Richard owned Valley Metals Products Inc. in Westchester until his retirement. With hands that can build or fix anything, he never encountered a machine he couldn't fix or a project he wouldn't tackle.

He loved watching the Yankees and sold ice cream outside Yankee stadium in his teens. He was an avid golfer who played and caddied from his youth until the age of 80. He was close to a scratch golfer boasting a love for competition. He was invited to play in tournaments by local golf course pros.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Barbara Conn, Eugene Myers, and Louise Myers.

He is survived by his brothers Gordon Conn and Raymond Myers, his children Donna Tomlins, Richard (Paula) Conn, Dennis (Mary) Conn, and Colleen (Wayne) Conn. He also is survived by his four grandchildren Tara, Andrew, Anthony, and Michael

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.

Calling hours will be Tuesday March 24th from 4 to 7pm at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538.

A service will take place at a later date where his cremains will be placed with his wife at Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave. Hyde Park, NY 12538
