It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Dick Cotterman on September 6, 2025 at the age of 91.

He will find another lake or river for fishing and a racetrack in the sky.

Dick was born on August 12, 1934. He was the son of Richard and Betty Lobaugh Cotterman and grandson of Oakley and Ellen Rankin Cotterman.

Dick graduated from Oil City High School in 1953. He was active in sports and a great swimmer.

He married his high school sweetheart, Susie Dudzic, on May 8, 1954 and she survives, they celebrated 71 years of marriage this year.

He retired from Continental Can Company after 37 ½ years of service.

Dick is survived by a son, David Cotterman(Dottie) of Marienville, PA.,

A daughter Lisa Cotterman of Oil City, PA.

Granddaughter

Jena(Ryan) Troupe of Dubois, PA.,

Grandson

Shane Cotterman of Carmen, ID., and their mother Donna DeMarco.

Also two great granddaughters

Brynlee and Harper Troupe.

Additionally, Dottie's children

Bonnie,

Andy and Julie(Allen) and grandchildren Elsie, Evelyn and Elizabeth.

Dick is also survived by sister-in-law MaryAnn Cotterman, brother-in-law, Olen Murdock, and by many nieces and nephews.

Some of his favorite days were spent on a lake or river fishing with his buddies. His interest in cars began at an early age and led into a racing career of 16 years.

He was a regular at Tri-City Speedway and many other local racetracks. A highlight of his racing years was in 1963 at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, in the sprint car division.

Dick was an avid fisherman, hunter, and NASCAR fan. He found great joy attending his grandchildren's sporting events as they were growing up.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother Ronald Cotterman and his sister Sandy Murdock.

Per Dick's request, there will be no viewing or visitation.

A Private Service will be held at the family's convenience.

The Family would like to thank the AseraCare team for their care.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
