Rick leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years, Carol Hernandez-Curotto; their daughters, Laura Christine and Olivia Rose; along with stepchild, Gabe Hernandez; brother, David Lynn (Carrie) Curotto; sister/brothers-in-law, Deborah (Michael) Bordowitz and Allan (Paula) Grohnke; many nieces and nephews; his young granddaughter, Vanessa Curotto; adult children, Matthew and Karissa Curotto; and Aunt Sharon Brandenburger (Steve), Uncle David Dennison; and long-time dedicated friend, Jerome Cross.

Rick was a long-time employee of the Trucking Industry, and an Army Veteran during the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm). He is remembered as an avid fan of NASCAR and Heavy Metal Music. Some of his favorite times were spent attending concerts and festivals with Carol when they were a young couple, then raising their children together. In later years, Rick enjoyed movies with his girls, dinners out with his wife, and a good backyard fire while listening to music. He experienced a lifelong dream by being gifted the opportunity to drive an actual NASCAR for Father's Day by Carol and their daughters. His wife and their children held his entire heart.
Private cremation. A celebration of life for his family and friends will be held at a later date to be announced.

Rick shared this amazing plaque with all of us one night. He was filled with so much joy remembering this Father´s Day spent driving NASCAR, a gift from his wife and kids. He had a smile from ear to ear when he told us about this day.

We at Hobart Schools are sending our condolences to Carol and their children. Rick and Carol remain one of the most dedicated and plugged-in parents we have had the pleasure of working alongside in the education of their children. We will remember Rick, hand in hand with Carol , present at every parent meeting, school function, choir presentation, and 4th of July parade . We are saddened and his presence in our community will be greatly missed. We have been blessed to be part of your family and been allowed to participate in the education of your wonderful children. We will continue to send our deepest sympathies and support to Carol and the children as they continue to represent Rick’s legacy.

Sending my love and prayers to Carol and their children. Our families went to St Paul’s Lutheran school and church for years together. We watched their family grow. Seeing Rick and Carol every Sunday morning each with a baby in their arms and each had another child holding their hands, taking up the entire first pew during sermon it was great times. Remembering Men’s Basketball and Easter Breakfast with Rick, and LPTL with Carol , such wholesome memories. Rest well Rick , we will miss you.

I’m so sad to see this. Stand up guy who came into my shop consistently to send his wife flowers over the last 15 years. Just saw him January coming in to send birthday and wedding anniversary flowers to Carol. We talked long and hard about how he was trying to mend it all. Damn Rick, I’m sorry. You were almost back where you wanted to be . The way you light up talking about your wife told me everything. Rest easy Buddy.

Rick was a very good friend from and we would often walk home from school together talking the entire time. I was in cub scouts with and his father was the den leader. Rick was a really nice guy and I liked him.

Listening to heavy metal music and drink shot of whiskey in his apartment about me. We had some amazing memories and he is always dear to my heart and he loved my kids like an uncle. He was an amazing friend and he will truly be missed but we always have Sam to remember all the fun time we all had together

Rick and I worked together at VTR. He nicknamed me "MOM". He was a great guy who would do anything for you. A sweetheart. Loved his music. Loved his daughters. Always talked about how great they were doing. He helped me out several times moving furniture. Never said No and wouldn´t take any money. He will be deeply missed.
