Richard Warren Davey of Waterbury Center, Vermont, passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Woburn, MA, the oldest son of George and Ruth (Bumpus) Davey.
Richard attended schools in Woburn and graduated in 1958. On Sept 6, 1959, he married Hope (Peterson) Davey. He then began working for Volkswagen of Belmont, MA, as an auto mechanic. In April 1971, he transferred to Twin Town VW in Berlin, VT, and the family moved to Waterbury Center. After injuring his back in 1975, he changed careers to become a salesman for Electrolux and then with the Portland Glass Company.
His memberships in the area included the Masonic Lodge, where he was the leader of the Demolay group, Queen Esther Lodge #7, Order of Eastern Star, Waterbury Center Community Church, Waterbury Volunteer Fire Department, and the Waterbury Ambulance Service Inc.
Richard was married to Hope until 1991, when she passed after 32 years of marriage. He married Robin (Harris) Davey on Sept. 24, 1995, and they enjoyed almost 20 years together until Robin passed in Sept. 2014.
He is survived by his sons, Warren Davey and his wife, Lazelle of Waterbury Center, and Andrew "George" Davey and his wife, Jocelyn of Hampstead, MD, and siblings Sandy Williams of Medfield, MA, and Paul Davey of Pepperell, MA.
He was the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren: Cynthia (Davey) Byrd, Bryce Davey, Kaitlyn Davey, Laurel Davey, Parker Davey, and 2 great grandsons: Liam Byrd and Carter Davey.
Richard was predeceased by both of his wives, Sister-in-law, Evelyn Davey, Brother-in-law Herb Williams, and stepson Hamilton "Billy" Greene.
A memorial service will be held at the Waterbury Center Community Church on Friday, January 9, 2026, starting at 11 am. After the service, light refreshments will be provided downstairs in the church.
