Funeral services for Mr. Richard "Dickie" Davis, Sr. will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Bethany Baptist Church in Whynot, MS, with Rev. Tim Buchanan officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Richard "Dickie" Allen Davis, Sr., 89, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
He was baptized June 1961 becoming a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis will be remembered as an honest man. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He and his wife (Hilda Faye) took joy in providing a safe and welcoming place where their family and friends could gather.
Mr. Davis graduated from Dixie Highway High School. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted with Mississippi Air National Guard where he retired as Senior Master Sergeant after serving 33 years. He was employed as a Registered Land Surveyor and Draftsman with Associated Consultants.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Hilda Faye Reynolds Davis; children, Debbie Shirley (Ricky Roy), Donna Davis (William), Rick Davis (Sue); grandchildren, Robby Workman (Marla), Ellie Moore (Alan), Matt Davis (Stacey), Jennifer May (Scooter), Heather Myatt (Nathan), LeAnn Vick (Todd), Madison Campbell (Eric), John Robert Williamson (Mandi), Hannah Hoy (Jeffrey), Brittany Griesser (Morgan), Kimberly Corn (John), Jesse Ray Davis; great-grandchildren, Landon Davis, Makenna Workman, Will Moore, Maddox Davis, Trey Williamson, Declan Vick, Madalyn Workman, Anna Catherine Moore, Brannon Williamson, Katie May, Jaden Griesser, Willow Campbell, William Myatt, Layklee Vick, Caroline Hoy, Finn Campbell, Levi May, John Myatt, James Hoy, Daniel Corn, Reagan Griesser, Henrik Griesser, Natalie Corn, Jase Corn, Brooks Davis (mother Olivia Files); his sister, Verla Buchanan; as well as host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Davis; his parents, Byron and Lois Davis; siblings, Thomas Davis and Blanch Dawson.
Pallbearers will be Robby Workman, Matt Davis, Jesse Ray Davis, Nathan Myatt, Todd Vick, Eric Campbell, Jeffrey Hoy, Morgan Griesser, John Corn, Alan Wade, Scooter May and John Robert Williamson.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made as donations to Bethany Baptist Church, 4475 Ponds Road, Meridian, MS 39301 or your charity of choice.
