Richard Davis, 91, died early Sunday February 8, 2026, peacefully at his home.

Funeral services will be private for his family at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery with Navy Honors. Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the services. Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Richard and his family into their care.

Surviving is his wife of 73 years Lorna, three children, Kevin (Colleen) Davis, Diana (Greg) Jones, Beth Carpenter, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, a son Wayne, and siblings, Kenneth Davis and Katherine Soberg.

Richard Ervin Davis was born May 19, 1934, in Monticello, Iowa, to Ervin and Mildred Jeske Davis. He attended the Monticello Community Schools. Rich later served in the United States Navy. He married Lorna Lehmann on November 20, 1952, in Kahoka, Missouri. Rich was employed by Energy Manufacturing for several years. He and Lorna built and managed the Stardust Bar and Grill in Delhi for several years, often joining Lorna on the dance floor. He then joined his uncle as a painting contractor. Rich later worked for Model Paint Company that transformed into Pospisil Painting. He was a member of the Painters Union for over 35 years.

Richard loved to fish and hunt and go camping. He taught all his grandchildren how to fish. He was an excellent caregiver to Lorna taking her on drives and to the casino.

Rich loved Lorna and his whole family very much.
