Richard Joseph Dean Sr.

Richard was born on October 8, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Arthur Austin Alton Dean and Janet Frances (Dunlap) Dean.

From a young age, Richard found his calling in the restaurant industry, dedicating his life to serving others through hard work, hospitality, and a genuine love for good food. His passion culminated in owning and operating Deano's Delights, where he became a familiar and friendly presence in the community. Many will remember him not only for his great food, but for the warmth and kindness he brought to every interaction.

Richard loved to play soccer and football when he was young and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also cherished time outdoors, finding joy in the simple beauty of nature and the peace it brought him.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Malik; his children, Richard Dean, Jr. (Jessica) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nicolas (Aarica) Dean of Struthers, Ohio, Jacob Dean of New Waterford, Ohio, and Julianna (Jayle) Hinkle of Des Moines, Iowa; five cherished grandchildren; and his five sisters, Debbie, Pam, Sandy, Cathy, and Renee.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with his wishes, the family is doing a private memorial to celebrate Richard's life at a later date.
