Richard A. Decembrino

Richard A. Decembrino, 79, of North Wales, PA, passed away on February 19, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a brief but brave battle with an illness that took him too soon. He was the beloved husband of Diana (Sirianni) Decembrino for 53 years. Richard was born in Abington, PA on July 3, 1944 to the late Peter and Carmella "Millie" (Antonacio) Decembrino. He was a former police officer with both Lower Gwynedd and Whitpain Townships. After the police force, Richard worked in sales most notably at Hillyard Inc. for 32 years where his people skills excelled and he made lifelong friendships. During his career he was a mentor to all he came in contact with. Following his retirement, he spent his time working as a firearms instructor at the DCCC Municipal Police Academy. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing, maintaining his lawn and property and taking long walks. Throughout his life he played poker weekly. In his later years he had a busy social schedule meeting different friends for breakfast and working on his golf game. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and was a devoted 'Poppy' to his adoring grandchildren. Along with his wife, he is survived by his three children: Richard Decembrino (Kathy), Gina Salfi (Greg), Stephanie Arnold (Jason); 7 grandchildren: Madison, Danielle, Cassie, Ellie, Jack, Wes, Harper; his sister Theresa "Gracie" Cardillo; his brother Robert Decembrino; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Salvatore "Tootie", Ralph and John Decembrino. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12 PM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 12 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
