Richard DelPrete, born on August 12, 1927, in Union City, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home in Palisades Park on February 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted father to his children, Cyndy Del Prete and Deborah Del Prete, and a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Maggee, Marc, and Terrance. Richard's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Skylar, who brought immense joy to his life.
Richard was not only a cherished member of his immediate family but also a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many. His warmth and kindness endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Chicky Del Prete, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
Professionally, Richard made his mark as a talented Film Editor, a role that showcased his creativity and passion for storytelling. He dedicated his career to the art of film, leaving behind a testament of his work that touched the hearts of many.
As we remember Richard, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. He will be deeply missed, and his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he has touched.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a Mass to be held on February 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael R.C. Church located at 19 East Central Boulevard, Palisades Park, NJ. Following the Mass, a graveside service will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, NJ, starting at 11:15 AM.
