Richard “Dick” LeMere, 76, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Wichita Falls.
He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on January 23, 1947, son of John LeMere and Marcella (Skrobel) LeMere.
Dick was united in marriage to Barbara Harring and to this union three daughters were born, Dawn, Julie, and Kathie. He and Barbara were married until her death. After the death of Barbara, Dick married Patricia Dennis.
Dick served our country in the United States Air Force until his retirement after 26 years. During his time in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Senior Master Staff Sergeant and served during Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Dick was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church, Knights of Colombus and Honorary Police all in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. He and his wife, Patt, established the Christmas Basket of Izard Program and ran it for many years.
He had a spirit of adventure which included tent camping in Africa with his daughter, Kathie. That adventurous spirit allowed him to travel and try new foods from all around the world.
Dick loved his family and Lord above all. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, smile, love of wine and horrible jokes. His hugs will be missed. He could squeeze the breath out of you with just one hug. Dick wanted everyone to feel the love of a hug and it gave him great joy to give back to the widows at church by hugging them so they too could continue to feel the love of a hug.
Dick is survived by his daughters, Dawn Prescott and husband Steve, Julie Andrews and husband Kent and Kathie Ziegler and husband Andreas; grandchildren, Josh Loeffler, Jaycob Loeffler, Jordyn Delargy, Kylea Andrews, Jonathan Andrews, Alexander Ziegler, Benjamin Ziegler, Caden Tomlin and Cannon Tomlin; four great grandchildren; step children, Richard Borus, Cori Tomlin and Jennifer Borus and siblings, Jack LeMere, Pat Lautenslager, Peter LeMere, Alex LeMere and Lois Meeuwsen.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara LeMere; second wife, Patricia Dennis; siblings, Bob LeMere and Emily Krummell and parents.
