It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard S. Moatz, who departed this life peacefully on his 81st birthday, January 2, 2026. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Harvey C. Moatz and Margaret H. (Pors) Mount.
Dick worked in the restaurant industry for many years, even owning one along the way, where he poured his heart into his work and shared his life with many. He found joy in serving others, and his generosity extended far beyond his restaurant. Throughout his life, Dick selflessly donated food to the homeless and cared for animals in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and kindness.
A man of profound faith, Dick loved God and devoted himself to the teachings of Jesus Christ. His faith guided him in all aspects of his life and inspired those around him. He was not only a loving friend but also a source of comfort and encouragement to those fortunate enough to know him.
Dick leaves behind a group of dear friends who were by his side until the very end.
A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:00am in the Calvary Baptist Church, 5300 Green Pond Road, Easton, PA 18045. Interment will take place privately at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local shelters and animal rescue organizations in Richard's name, honoring the charitable spirit that defined his life. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and compassion will live on in our hearts.
