Richard “Dick” Wachtman of Mechanicsburg PA, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2025.
Dick was born on March 9, 1942 in Harrisburg to George and Rhoda Wachtman. He graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1960, attended Kutztown University, and served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
Dick worked most of his career with Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a Visual Merchandiser. He was an avid train collector and MG enthusiast. He was a member of the Train Collector’s Association and the Central PA British Car Club and a longtime, past member of the Lanco MG Club.
Dick is survived by his wife Carol, a son Jeffrey, a sister Karen Enterline, four stepchildren - Jill, Michael, Daniel, and Andrew - and 24 dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's name to CancerCare.
