Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, Ltd.Raymond Lyter Boyer, age 93, passed away November 21, 2025. Born October 8, 1932, in Mechanicsburg to the late Raymond W. and Gertrude (Lyter) Boyer.
He grew up on a farm just west of Mechanicsburg and graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1950. He worked on his parent's farm until 1960, while working for Archer Daniel Midland (formerly Central Soya/ Master Mix Feeds) and retired after 42 years. He continued to work parttime at Mayapple Golf Course, Terranetti's Bakery, and Maggies Italian Ice. He and Martha had a woodcraft business for many years. After his retirement, they traveled all over the United States.
Raymond is survived by his wife Martha Jane (Fertenbaugh) Boyer, three sons, Raymond D. (Anne) of Mechanicsburg, John R. (Lynne) of Richardson TX, Kenneth E. of Mechanicsburg, and daughter Dawn Scott (Barry) of Mechanicsburg, his six grandchildren Morgan Boyer, Kelsey Vigh (Michael), Ryan Yinger (Kaitlin), Shawn Yinger, Kristen Boyer and Michael Boyer, two step grandchildren Christopher Scott (Dimitra) and Derrik Scott and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Fertenbaugh and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine M. Bousum.
He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards. He volunteered as Assistant Scout Master for his sons' Boy Scout Troops and was an advisor for Explorer Post 333. He was a member of Trindle Spring Ev. Lutheran Church and served on the church council several times and was co-chairman of the annual Country Fair at the church.
All are welcome to join Raymond's family at his visitation on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Trindle Spring Ev. Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trindle Spring Ev. Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050
