Richard H. Dickerson was born on September 12, 1946, to James Robert Dickerson and Amelia Francis Dickerson in Carthage, Tennessee. He departed this earthly life on June 5, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 77.
Richard was educated in the Smith County Public Schools in Carthage, Tn. He was a 1964 graduate of Turner High School. After graduation he continued his education and attended Tennessee State University. He was united in holy matrimony to Sheila Campbell in 2016.
Richard accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized and later united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a hard and dedicated worker. He was an employee at NWI Aerospace for over 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf and gardening in his spare time. He will truly be missed by all his loved ones.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, James Robert Dickerson and Amelia Francis Dickerson, sons, Stephen Dickerson and Tracy Dickerson.
Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife Sheila Dickerson, children, Brent Dickerson, Stacey Dickerson, Jonathan (Carman) Dickerson, Nykea Dickerson, Jermaine Shute, Ahmad Dickerson, Brandon Dickerson, Quinton (Tina) Otis; grandchildren, Cheyenne North, Zechariah Dickerson, Autumn Dickerson, Malik (Damoni) Pope, Zamari Dickerson, Elijah Dickerson, Cameron Dickerson, King Dickerson, Alani Shute; sisters, Dora (Charles) Hemphill, Sandra (Malcolm) Cunningham; brother, James Dickerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
