1948 - 2024
WEST SPRINGFIELD
Richard W. Dominik, 75, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, March 22, 2024.
The legend sporting the big white mustache, slicked back white hair, and wardrobe lacking pants but only shorts, was born on June 24, 1948 and was the son of the late Walter and Wanda Dominik. Richard was a graduate of Chicopee High School. He was a Hydro Mechanic for Northeast Utilities, Western MA Electric and others until his countdown expired and reached his retirement in 2010 and the daily 2-mile walks became a full time job. Rich is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly A. (Maziarz) Dominik, whom he had to ask to marry 4 times until she said yes; two daughters, Allison Marchetto and her husband, Matthew of West Springfield; Samantha Biuso and her husband, Bryan of Feeding Hills and his son Jonathan Dominik and his wife, Emily of West Springfield; five grandchildren, Gianna Marchetto, Georgina Marchetto, Miles Dominik, Micah Biuso and Henry Dominik that were lucky enough to call him "Dziadziu"; two brothers, John Dominik and his wife, Bernice of Chicopee and Nick Dominik of South Hadley; a sister, Marilyn Roy and her husband, Jerry of Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1-4 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls. I've been in the process of packing for a move south when I ran into materials from my Chicopee High School days. I decided to google a few old friends and stumbled into Richard's obituary. My condolence to the family. I have very fond memories of my high school and Cape Cod days with Richard. He came up with characterizations of our classmates . Richard was a self proclaimed "be bopper" and I was a "shell cracker" aspiring to be a be bopper.

Marilyn, Jerry and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Richie's passing. We were friends and basketball teammates at CHS and I'll always remember Richie as a fun, lovable guy with a great personality and big smile on his face. My condolences to Richie's family and friends.

To my dear friend who I´ve known the longest. I can´t remember a childhood without you. I have so many memories like when I brought you home with a broken collar bone after we were sliding on a car hood on the snowy sandbanks.
