Richard was born on November 2, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Maymie Elizabeth Prince Dubois and Virgil Paul Dubois and passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

He lived in Mt. Vernon, Illinois until high school when his family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he attended Fair Park High School. Richard married Carolyn June Masters in 1991, blending their family of his daughter and her three sons.

Richard owned several Washateria’s, a parts store for appliances and other businesses for several years. He was always there to help anyone that needed him. He had a huge personality and loved to pick on everyone. His mom called him the clown of the family as well as “that Richard” and then laugh. He would sit with her for hours in her latter years. A true Mama’s boy, she always kept his candy around for him.
