Richard Wayne Durbin

Richard Wayne Durbin, age 67, of New Franklin, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of Jackie and Barbara Durbin.

Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, for a Memorial Visitation at Howard Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Emma Durbin's Educational fund.

Richard was a pipefitter his entire career in the Local 562. He worked on the local hospitals in Columbia, building of the Hearnes Center and his favorite project was building a private car museum in St. Louis.

He raced on the dirt track circuit in his younger years and loved fishing and competed in many fishing tournaments in which he won several of those tournaments. But his favorite thing was spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife Sylvia of New Franklin; son Austin Durbin; daughter Emma Durbin. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Mike and Cindy Durbin.
