Ric passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 19, 1968, to Richard and Elaine (Walker) Eader of Pataskala, Ohio.
A 1987 graduate of Licking Heights High School, Ric worked as a former special education teacher's aide for Southwest Licking Schools and also worked in their maintenance department.
Ric earned the merit of Eagle Scout as a youth and continued on to serve the Scouting community in his adult years, working at Camp Lazarus and Camp Falling Rock where many knew him as "Cyclopes". He enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was able to use his tractor at home.
Ric was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeye and liked watching Fox News. He was a former coach with Upwards Basketball and Southwest Licking Track in the shotput and discus,
In addition to his parents, Ric is survived by his wife, Jill (Grogan) Eader; children, Richard Eader (fiancé, Lylah Compston), Nicholas (Sadie) Eader, Jacob (Kierstin) Eader, Jessica (Daniel) Poole, Matthew (Megan) Eader, Jessica Linn, and Jordan Linn; grandchildren, Mia, Wren, Emmitt and Clara; and his sister, Deb Eader.
The family requests memorials in Ric's name be made to the Shriners Children's Ohio, Office of Philanthropy, One Children's Plaza, - 2 West, Dayton, Ohio 45404.
