Richard Enos Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. - Utica on Jul. 11, 2024.
N. UTICA – Richard Lawrence Enos, Sr., age 59, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, after a brief and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 12, 1964, Richard was the son of Christine (Ford) Blair and the late Robert L. Blair, Sr. As a young child he relocated to Utica with his family and attended T.R. Proctor High School.
Quite possibly the happiest day of his life, Richard married his childhood sweetheart, the former Sharon Hervey, on August 19, 1989.
A hard-working and dedicated individual, Richard held various positions locally throughout the years until he could no longer work due to an injury.
Richard was the kind of man that you wouldn't forget if you met him. He was loving, caring, and found his greatest happiness when he was with his loved ones and being a part of their lives. He was blessed with a big heart and showed respect to everyone he met. A loyal friend and confidant, Richard could always be counted on to have your back.
Richard was a great father, not only to his own children, but to all the children he met, especially those in his neighborhood. He possessed a fatherly virtue that was evident to all who were in his company.
Richard enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Each of them had a special relationship with him and would often call him daily. He enjoyed the spirit and camaraderie of many different sports, but never failed to root for the Dallas Cowboys.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon; mother, Christine; children and daughter-in-law, Sharonda Enos, Richard, Jr. and Courtney Enos, Joshua Hervey, and Vincent Enos (and the late Shakena Enos); grandchildren, Mariana; Mariah, Richard III; Hezikiah, Joshua, Jr.; Josiah, Kai'leese, A'nylah; Gianaya, Viniya, Aniya, and Zha'ryah; and siblings and their loves, Virginia Gonzalez (and the late Joe Gonzalez), Linda Daniels (and the late Riley Daniels), Betty and Michael Phillips, Robert L., Jr. and Lisa Blair, and Earl H. Blair. He fondly remembered his sisters who preceded him, Linda Blair, and Peggy Blair. He leaves his memory to his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, goddaughter; in-laws, Eric Hervey, Sr., Cynthia Santiago, and Lorraine and Louis Washington; and many special friends. He was additionally predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter Lee, Sr., and Deloris (Hunter) Hervey; and in-laws, Walter Lee Hervey, Jr., Barbara Jean Leon, and Ronnie Hervey, Sr.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mike, R.N. of the fifth floor at Wynn Hospital for his care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Richard's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Our condolences to Rich and his grieving family. We knew Rich as one of the most kind and generous and friendliest of neighbors. Wherever we were walking our dog in Utica, Rich would give us his wave from his truck. We are going to miss his presence on Melrose Ave.
