Mr. Epting has been our next door neighbor for over 22 years. I'll never forget when we moved from CA to Rogers, AR and we started a garden. If you know anything about Richard, he was a master gardener and could grow anything and everything without flaw!! He looked over at as one day (he and Sheila as they must have felt sorry for us) and said, "Hey, do you all need help?" We insisted we didn't. However, as we watched he and Sheila diligently grow and work on their garden to produce a harvest to feed not only themselves but their neighbors,------we too, learned to do the same, by watching their example.

We've watched our kids and grandchildren grow-up together, we went through a tornado together on 13th Street in 2006 and he's even fixed our plumbing issues throughout the years!

Continuously, he has been a role model of Christian faith in word and deed.
We are going to miss Richard on our street and as a good neighbor. Scripture tells us, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,"(Matthew 22:38). This is the great and first commandment. Verse 39 in Matthew states, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets," (Matthew 22:37-40). Richard always put God first, then his family, and then his neighbors and community/church. A very rare find in our world today.

Heaven is beautiful today for Mr. Epting.

Farwell from you next door neighbors,
Pastor Brownell & Jacquelin
All of our kids and grandkids, too!
