Richard (Dick) L. Evans, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at the age of 83, at St. Lukes Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA.
He was born on October 28, 1941, to Charles (Chip) and Blanche Albert-Evans. Richard was the loving husband to Terresa Megargle Evans, whom he shared 2 wonderful years of marriage.
Richard was a devoted father to his three children: Richard Evans II, Laura Demler, her husband Steven Demler and Christopher Evans and his wife Aurelia. He was a dedicated husband and father who always put his family first.
Richard was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Nathan, Alexandra, Gavin and Leah, who brought him immense joy and happiness. He loved spending time with his family and creating lasting memories with them.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He loved going to Lake Ontario and going out on his boat for Salmon fishing.
Richard was a hard worker his entire life. He owned and operated the Gulf garage in Mountainhome with his first wife, Carol, for many years. Then after decades of working at Summit Tool Corp as a precision machinist, and his second job at J A Reinhardt &Co., he finally retired at 72 years old. Sitting idly by was not in his nature so he stayed busy by enjoying time spent with his golf buddies, car club friends, American Legion members, helping his wife Terresa doing odd jobs at the hunting cabin and stopping by to visit his kids for a cup of coffee.
Richard is survived by siblings Barbara, James, and David, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Blanche and his siblings Barbara Jean and Ronald.
Richard was a much- loved member of the community known for his quick wit, gentle spirit and kind heart. He will be remembered for his love of his family, and his unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will take place at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025 in the Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa 18326 where the family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00A.M. until the time of service.
