Richard Earl Fairchild, 78, of
Tacoma, WA passed away

Richard (Dick) was born January 2, 1947, in Tacoma, Washington, to the late Luke and Melba Fairchild. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Garnet Fairchild; son, Brian Stone(Hollie), daughter, Vonnie Stone(Brent), Douglas Larson and David Larson(Sonja); nine grandchildren, Rylie, Lexie, Jacob, Danielle, Jordan, Andrew, Douglas, Anna and Nora; plus nine great grandchildren.
His working career included equipment operator at Tacoma City Light, Business Manager, IBEW Local 483, Pierce County Assistant Assessor/Treasurer and personal assistant/business manager for the owner of DuPont Grocery/76 Gas Station.
Dick's hobbies were many, but he particularly loved music. He established one of the first internet radio stations on the West Coast where he was a DJ for a number of years. He was an active volunteer in his son, Brian's, Boy Scout Troop 37. In addition, he was a member of one of Tacoma's early computer clubs, plus several hiking and cross country skiing groups. Though he had lots of hobbies, he'd tell you that his most cherished time was with his family.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents and previous wife, Mardell Fairchild.
