Richard Allan Fanta, 85, of Bossier City, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 1, 1940, in Shreveport, LA, to Rudolph and Lorraine Fanta, Richard grew up with a strong sense of family and hard work. He began a lifelong career with UOP in 1962. Richard dedicated 40 years of service to the company before retiring in 2002.

Beyond his professional life, Richard found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid duck hunter and treasured the many trips and adventures he shared while traveling with his beloved wife, Sandra.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marjorie Ward; and his brother, Fred Fanta.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 63 years, Sandra; his son, Troy (Barbara); his daughter, Lisa (Jason); nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered most as “Papa,” a role he treasured deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Richard’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
