Richard Forbes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2025.
Richard Lee Forbes, 78, of Scottsdale, Arizona, was born on May 16, 1947, in Rhinelander, WI, and raised in DuBois, PA. He grew up with his parents, Eleanor and Edward Finger, and his twin brother, Ronald Forbes.

After graduating from Clarion University with a BA, Rick served in the US Army at Fort Monroe in Virginia as a draftsman. A bright and imaginative businessman, Rick owned various retail stores and sports bars he shared with his brother, Ron. Golf was Rick's lifelong hobby, even playing on a college golf team. He was an excellent player, winning tournaments and trophies for years. He was always ready to place a bet when playing.

Throughout his later life, he was devoted to his love, Karen Tench, until his passing on August 27, 2025. Rick is survived by his daughter, MacKenzie Wilber, and granddaughters, Reese and Sydney Wilber of Altoona, PA, sister-in-law, Beverly Forbes (Ron), and his nephew, Derek Forbes (Monica) of Scottsdale, AZ, as well as Karen's extended family, who loved him as their own.

Rick's life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 5th, at 11am at The Herb Box, located at 7000 E Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ. Please join us in honoring Rick's life and the cherished memories we shared with him.

We love you Rick and we will always look back on all the fun times we shared together. Your silly jokes and solid advice on life will live on forever. We know you are at peace and you are with Ron and your family now. We will miss you- but come visit us in the sunsets, until we see each other again. Xoxo all our love, Bennett, Kelli & Olivia
