Richard Fuller Obituary

Richard Fuller
Richard N. Fuller, Jr. 52, transitioned peacefully on April 15, 2024. Affectionately known as Rick, he was a lifelong resident of Norwalk, CT., born December 30, 1971 to Carolyn C. Fuller of Norwalk and the late Richard N. Fuller, Sr. He attended Virginia Union University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and continued his education at the University of Bridgeport receiving a Master's Degree in English. He retired from the Norwalk Public Schools, continuing his role as an Educator with Bridgeport Public Schools. The magnificent tapestry of his life was woven with threads of guiding the Norwalk High School Bears in FCIAC Girls Basketball to three undefeated championships and a state championship. In addition to youth development, he mentored many youths at the Norwalk Housing Authority After School Program, Youth Development Program at GW Carver Center and countless experiences mentoring and nurturing youth. Rick was affiliated with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and was the founder of Colonial Village Garden Center. His purpose was not a destination but a journey, filled with profound meaning and valuable lessons. His memory will be treasured by his loving mother, Carolyn C. Fuller, his sister; Dominique Franklin and her adored son, Karter Trotter, his brother; Jonathan Lake, aunts; Anita Osborne (Herman), Diane Peters (Keith), Charlene Fuller, J.D. "Denise" Fuller and Brenda Penn-Williams, uncles; Daniel Fuller (Norma), Lloyd Fuller, Terry Fuller (Elaine), Jeffrey Fuller (Christine) and Douglas Peoples, godson; Jeremy Williams-Abel, three god sisters; Melissa Sellers, Renita Crawford and Kara Williams and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. In addition to his father, Richard N. Fuller, Sr., he was predeceased by his brother; Bryan Fuller, maternal grandparents; Wilson and Lillian Crocker, paternal grandparents; Lloyd D. Fuller, Sr. and Charlotte Fuller. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., followed by a service of celebration at 12:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 17 West Ave., Norwalk, CT, Rev. Dr. Lindsay E. Curtis officiating. Interment will be private. Services entrusted to Graves Medley Funeral Services.

One of my favorite memories of Rick is commuting together to Danbury High School to take some of our exams for the teaching profession.
