Richard J. Fynan ("Rick"), age 68, lifelong resident of Riverside, NJ, passed peacefully on September 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Rick was born in Riverside, NJ in 1957 to June (née Fisher) and Richard F. Fynan. He was a proud graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1975, where among his many activities he played football, threw shotput, and played trombone in the Jazz Band. His love of music continued after high school and he continued to perform with area bands, including the Philly Pops. He was excited for the upcoming 50th High School Reunion to once again spend time with his many friends.

Rick began his working career with C.E. Glass, Cinnaminson, then went on to Sam's Club and ultimately achieved his goal of being a Corrections Officer, working for the State Of New Jersey, Department of Corrections, retiring after 15 years of dedicated service.

His real passion was taking care of, and looking out for, everyone in his family, his many friends and those in need in his community. For more than 25 years Rick ran the Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry from the First Moravian Church of Riverside. He enlisted the support of his family and friends, along with donations from local business and the South Jersey Food Bank, to support his efforts to care for those in need in his community. Rick was a proud resident of Swamppoodle and lived his life giving generously and without expectations.

Rick enjoyed caring for his home, decorating for each holiday, gardening and cooking for family and friends. He was devoted to his beloved wife, Lisa Ann Fynan (née Dugan), caring for her every need and providing a strong, positive influence on her son, Matt Dugan. Rick's love of his wife and large extended family, affectionately referred to as the" Du-For-Fy-Yam-Quez.com" family, was something very special.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, June and Richard F. Fynan, sister-in-law, Gracie Dugan, and nephew Willie Yamb . He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa A. Fynan, his dear son, Matt Dugan, and his siblings, Keith J. Fynan (Jill), Pamela J. Reeder, Barbara J. Fynan and Todd J.
