Henry M. Malburg Funeral HomeRichard L. Gajewski, age 71, a longtime resident of Almont, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at home. Richard was born April 18, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Leo and Sophie Gajewski. In 1972 he graduated from Warren High School. After high school, he began working at Ford Motor Company in Sterling Heights, where he was employed until retirement in 2008. In 2010, Richard married Cindy Hopp in Almont, Michigan, and they enjoyed 15 years of marriage. Richard loved bowling, golf, and football, and he enjoyed shopping at thrift stores.
Richard is survived by his wife, Cindy Gajewski of Almont, sons Chris Gajewski of Royal Oak, and Jim Gajewski of St Clair Shores, step-children Matthew Bennett of Washington, and Emily (Nick) Moore of Sterling Heights, as well as grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Axton, Ava, Kolten, Sawyer, and Finlee.
A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2-5 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
